The Springfield varsity boys soccer team lost in a 4-5 heartbreaker to Clay in the final minutes of the game. Despite falling behind 0-3 to Clay by the end of the first half, the boys captured the momentum in the second half and were up 4-3 at one point. Senior captain Trevor Tabb started off the comeback with a goal. Junior Reed Sautter put away the second goal off a Trevor Tabb corner kick assist. Trevor Tabb then put away another goal off a Josh King assist to even the score at 3-3. The fourth goal came off a free kick rebound from sophomore captain Hunter Keivens. Unfortunately the Blue Devils couldn’t hold on to the lead, but the second half proved to be a thrilling game for the spectators. The boys will next take on Swanton at home on Thursday at 7:00 PM. #springfieldstrong
