Blue Devils News · Springfield Donates 3,100 Pounds of Food During Pack-a-Pick Up Challenge

During pregame on Friday night at the varsity football game vs. Northview, a handful of Springfield students helped stuff a pick up truck full of canned goods that were donated by students, staff, and community members throughout the week of 9/30-10/4. The behind-the-scenes work was coordinated by Springfield’s Student Government, which is led by advisors Amy Neal and Zac Smith. Student Government organized a challenge among all the first period classes at Springfield High School to see which class could bring in the most canned food. This food was collected and donated to the Seagate Food Bank and was supplemented with walk-up donations provided by spectators attending Friday’s game. The total amount donated was right around 3,100 pounds of food. Well done, Springfield community!
