Springfield hosted the 2019 version of its annual Jack Wallington Tennis Showcase. Springfield and Notre Dame entered two teams each and they were joined by St. Ursula, Oak Harbor, Start, and Defiance. The tennis showcase is an early season doubles event for teams to get back in the competitive mindset. It features two flights of teams and all matches utilize a pro set, which keeps the pace of the showcase moving quickly.
Notre Dame took home all the honors in Flight A, winning at 1st doubles, 2nd doubles, 3rd doubles, and the overall championship. Notre Dame B finished favorably in Flight B as well, winning 2nd doubles, 3rd doubles, and the overall championship. Springfield took home the 1st doubles prize from Flight B. The top Springfield team was comprised by sophomores Zuri Clark and Avi Shah. Nice job to all who participated.
A special thank you goes out to tennis pro Andy Rodriguez from Twos Athletic Club who helped run the tournament!
