Varsity Volleyball · Volleyball Volunteers at United Way’s “Kickoff to Caring”

On Wednesday, August 7, the Springfield High School volleyball program spent time volunteering at the United Way’s “Kickoff to Caring” backpack build event at Owens Community College. Along with 1,000 other volunteers from around the Toledo area, our Springfield volunteers helped pack around 5,000 backpacks with school supplies for students in Lucas, Wood, and Ottawa counties. This year the Springfield volleyball program was joined by the Northview volleyball program in its effort to help serve the 2,000 local K-12 students who are identified as being homeless.

Springfield’s volleyball program is led by head coach McKenna Reitz and her assistant coaches Tyler Haughawout, Katie Crago, and Kelsey DePompei. We are proud of the #springfieldstrong efforts our student athletes do to contribute to our local community and give back to those in need.
